A participant in the Great Locomotive Chase during the Civil War, Western & Atlantic locomotive 'Texas' is at the NCTM for a cosmetic restoration and research. At the conclusion of the restoration, the Texas will return to Atlanta to appear in a new home at the Atlanta History Center’s Buckhead campus. Here she's in the former Southern Railway's massive backshop at the former Spencer Shops which dwarfs the diminutive locomotive.
