"RALEIGH"
After dropping off 11 cars at the CSX interchange, 86 continues on passing over the rebuilt right of way over CSX and Tuscarora Creek before heading into downtown Martinsburg, WV. The track and bridges were heightened as part of CSX's National gateway project in order to allow domestic double-stack containers on the former B&O East End.
The road known as the Raleigh Street extension opened in late 2013 and provides motorists with an alternate avenue into downtown and provides this scene looking north from the overpass. |
