The unsung heroes. Silently standing by day and night, ready to serve their community when the call comes, the fellows pictured here don't normally get a lot of attention. Fortunately, on this day, they get a nice round of applause from some 60 patrons of a Lerro Productions Photo Charter, as they perform one of their least risky missions.....watering the very thirsty Western Maryland 734 during a lunch break at Frostburg Station. Filling the 734's massive tender tank might literally take all day without the assistance of these guys and their high-pressure pumps. When the job was done, the crew of Frostburg Engine 164 posed for photos with their engine....and ours. Gentlemen, thank you for all you do!
