Some beautiful light late on a scorchingly hot autumn afternoon and the crew are certainly feeling the heat and uncomfortable humidity! Class 18E Series 1 locomotive, 18-281, with a load of containers, is passing over the Willow Farm crossing in Umlaas Road, bound for Kazerne in Johannesburg. It’s hard to believe, judging from the lush green grass and sugar cane to the right that the main water supply dam levels to the greater Durban area are so low that pretty severe water restrictions have kicked in as of today.
