Remarks & Notes
The Central Oregon and Pacific railroad recently reopened their Siskiyou Branch over the steep grades of the Siskiyou Mountains in southern Oregon and northern California after many years of no service. As evidenced by the length of this northbound train, however, demand on this part of the line isn't quite what it used to be. Before, a normal lashup included around 6 EMDs and somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 cars over the pass in both directions each day. Now, even 20 cars per train is unusually high. Perhaps they will see more success as time goes on.
