| Another hard to catch job is the R944 local that runs out to Pelron in Lyons on the old Chicago & Illinois Western Ry. The one other time I ran into this job was maybe 7-8 years ago with a pair of GTW geeps and also running in the late evening. Watco took over switching operations at Koppers and Citgo along the branch so now the CN just delivers the cars and runs out to Pelron maybe once every two weeks. Had this been about 5min later, a BNSF geometry train would have been in the background crossing the Des Plaines River. |
