Northwestern Pennsylvania, sometime in the mid-1980's. An eastbound freight behind a battered ex-PC U25b waits in the hole for a recrew as a short westbound local zips by on the main. With fusee burning bright, the conductor looks on from the back door of his ex-PC transfer caboose.
This shot was taken at the Lake Shore Railway Museum's annual Night at the Railroad Museum event, held every Father's Day weekend in North East, Pennsylvania. NetzlofDesign of Brockway, Pennsylvania has organized and conducted the night photo shoot at the event since 2012. ND and LSRHS crews transformed ex-NYC 2500 into its Conrail patched lettering for this year's event, to honor Conrail's 40th anniversary and to highlight the arrival of the Museum's recently-acquired transfer caboose.
