Even from high above the hills near Darling, Ariz., one can hear the sounds of General Electric motors roaring with life as they fight gravity. The early morning sunlight begins to warm the eastern slope along the Arizona Divide as this 10,000 foot-long stack train battles up 1.5% grade. With a heavy amount of smoke being blown out the exhaust stacks, the three locomotives struggle to maintain speed up as the charge towards the summit; 7,335 feet above sea level.
