| This shot of the 181S may turn out to be the very last export coal train on the Alaska Railroad. With the soft coal market this will be the last train needed to fill the coal ship at Seward. Currently the railroad is looking to sell their fleet of aluminum hoppers and is putting the unloading facility in Seward into cold storage. The train is entering no mans land and will not see civilization until Moose Pass some 35 rail miles and 50 road miles through some ruggedly beautiful country. |
