Seen here just west of Fredericks Hall Road Crossing, CSX 3181 west hit an empty logging truck around 16:00 today. All people involved are fine, and the driver went for the ride of a lifetime before coming to rest about 500 feet past the impact zone. The plan was to cut the trailer in half just behind the upright posts in the center of the locomotive and drag both halves to their respective sides of the ROW. From the talk going around, it would be near Midnight before things open up down there.
This is the first rail related incident of sorts I've had the chance to see, and it's amazing what a locomotive can do to such a seemingly strong piece of steel !
