Shortly after 7 a.m in the small city of Thomasville, North Carolina, the early Monday morning quietness is briefly disturbed as N&W 611 thunders through, heading home for Roanoke. The J traveled to the North Carolina Museum of Transportation after completing its spring excursions with Norfolk Southern. While at the museum, routine maintenance was performed along with several other events with the 611. 611 is scheduled to return to the NCTM sometime this fall for more routine maintenance according to the schedule put out by the Virginia Museum of Transportation.
