Remarks & Notes
DL 414 (painted in as-delivered Lehigh Valley colors) and DL 2461 (wearing Delaware Lackawanna's faded EL-style scheme) bring up the hind end of a heavy PT-97 as the train passes through Slateford Junction. These units would soon be put to good use shoving hard against the rear of the train, which was led by five other vintage MLW/Alco products. Unfortunately PT-97 would lose its battle with gravity just below Mt. Pocono due to slippery leaves on the rails. The train would have to double the hill before continuing to Scranton.
