Remarks & Notes
Continuing the story from photo, 595404. After ME-2 completed its set-out at Bound Brook, my father and I drove to Middlesex to get a picture of ME-2 from the Mountain Avenue bridge. In an unusual configuration, Mountain Avenue crosses the CNJ at grade, but the parallel Lehigh Valley over a bridge. In a period of about 30 seconds, we saw four trains at this location including ME-2 and a caboose hop on the Lehigh Valley and a commuter train and this local on the CNJ. Leased Precision National RS-2 (ex SP&S RS-2 62 in costume?) leads the local west to Bound Brook on an eventful Halloween 1974. R.T. Steinbrenner Photo.
