| LIRR and MNRR are working hand in hand to test a sprung-third rail shoe. LIRR and MNRR have different types of third rail, LIRR is over-running third rail and MNRR has under-running third rail. This M8 pair is equipped with a contact shoe that allows universal use on both forms of third rail. |
