Remarks & Notes
In the mid-1980’s, the Black River & Western acquired former AT&SF CF7’s 2419 and 2421, brokered by the Blue Mountain & Reading, who bought several dozen of the rebuilt road switchers from the Santa Fe. The first and fourth digits of the Santa Fe road number were dropped, and the units became BR&W 41 and 42, respectively. Here BR&W 42, basically patched, but with the road’s bold stylized logo applied to the long hood stands by the engine house at Ringoes, New Jersey.
