And so a new era begins... Crews at the Durbin & Greenbrier Valley Railroad have spent much of 2016 rebuilding a section of former C&O main between Cass, W.Va., and Durbin, W.Va., that was destroyed by a flood nearly 30 years ago. On November 26, the first daylight run made a 3-mile trip north from Cass on part of the right-of-way that is being restored. More than 6 miles still need to be repaired and a full restoration is expected for 2018.
