Mixed freight climbs the Semmering pass with a trio of 1144 on the point. It rolls out under the Pollers-wall from Pollers-tunnel, crossing the Kalte Rinne viaduct. The building on the left was once a watchpost for railroaders, now it is the Ghega museum, named after Carl von Ghega, who found the way through this passand led the whole project back in the 1840s. This is the worlds first hight mountain railway pass, which will serve just till the 2020s, because ÖBB is already building the Semmering-Basistunnel. The tunnel'll cross the whole length of the pass under the surface and it'll make possible 200+km/h traffic.
