UP 649 is a GP48-2 and was built as MP 2149 in 10-1977, builder number 777035-2. It became UP 2149 on 8-10-1988, and UP 649 on 10-27-2000. UPY 604 is a GP15-1, and was built as MP 1604 in 7-1977, builder number 767038-15. It became UP 1604 on 3-16-1987, and was renumbered to UPY 604 on 8-8-01.

This job used to run almost exclusively with MP15 type switchers until UP recently decided to all but purge the roster of end cab switch engines. This industrial lead is located off State Line Yard next to the UP KC Metro Sub.
