NS Train 223 rumbles across the 1936 Ex-Wabash Missouri River Bridge into the aptly named city of Bridgeton, with the rear end still in St. Charles. This span on the NS St. Louis District is 7,876 feet long, and was built to replace an earlier structure dating to 1871 that was located about a half mile further south.
