Southern Tier Plow Extra

The New York Susquehanna & Western, like most railroads throughout the Northeast was heavily affected by winter storm Stella. Two days after winter storm Stella dropped well over a foot of snow across the region the NYS&W was still taking measures to ensure their rails were safe for travel. Among these measures included plow extras across the Northern Division, Southern Division and the CNYK Southern Tier. The plow extra on the Tier while already an exciting move due to the fact the daylight trains on the Tier are a rare occurrence, this was also the only plow extra to feature one of the railroads plows in lieu of a light engine movement.

The Binghamton based extra crew is already a few hours into their run as they cross a small river flowing into the mighty Delaware at Basket, NY. Supplying power for the train is two of the railroads SD60 road units.
