| The Last Days of the Highway Turnout at Summit - The BARWAT crosses over from Main #3 to Main #2 at CP Summit for the decent down the Cajon Pass on it's way to the Watson Yard near the harbor in Los Angeles.
This is going to be one of the last pictures taken from this vantage point at Summit, since CalTrans will be closing California Highway 138 on March 21, 2017, to drop the road bed at this point down 38 vertical feet in order to straiten the road.
Based on the plans, it looks like future pictures taken from this point will be at or about track level. |
