Remarks & Notes
"Truncated Orange Blossom"
With only two engines (Chessie System/B&O GP40-2 4296 and Seaboard System/SBD U30C 7238), and fewer than 20 trailers, an unusually short Orange Blossom Special-South is westbound at White Marsh on B&O's Philadelphia Subdivision on January 4, 1987 at 10:44. More typical would be 4 or 5 (and maybe 6) locomotives, with a cab signal-equipped RF&P unit leading, and well over 100 trailers, which would stretch as far as the eye can see from this vantage point. For the same vantage point two days later, see photo 610694 and four months later photo 602186.
