Six Trains per Day Between Los Angeles and San Diego

Amtrak San Diegan #770 makes its stop in Fullerton, California, on a beautiful April day in 1974. a pair of SDP40Fs (522 and 507) is a lot of power for this seven-car train ... It is likely that a second unit was needed in San Diego. Note how the black paint on the 522's frame has been peeling off. This was a common issue with the first batch of SDP40Fs.
