Encircling the mouth of Coal Creek Canyon east of Plainview, Colorado, on January 8, 2003, is a westbound Union Pacific coal empty with eight locomotives up front. Seven GE AC4400CW varieties from both UP and Southern Pacific are joined by lone EMD SD90MAC-H No. 8551 on the climb toward Tunnel 1.
