| With the first half of its journey complete, Amtrak 1790 prepares to depart San Luis Obispo for points south with the veteran AMTK 505 on the point followed by the private cars "Pacific Trail" and "Overland Trail." Although a fairly common sight from time to time on the west coast, Dash-8's on the point are extremely disliked by train crews because of their rough riding and slow loading. More often than not, they can be found as the trailing unit on the Coast Starlight train sets. |
