Remarks & Notes
There comes a time when everything comes together for a shot that has been planned for nearly a year, and early Friday morning, that plan came together! Forecast rain was minutes away from ruining a shot that was orchestrated through the cooperation of Genesee & Wyoming/NECR, the crews, the AVP Mechanical and others, and with one shutter release, it was history. The new look of the New England Central Railroad's nightly freight trains is rolls along Mud Pond in Roxbury, Vermont at 0230 hrs on June 23, with NECR SD40-2 (rebuilt) 3405 leading SD40M-2s 3475 and 3474. The train originated in St. Albans and is ultimately bound for Palmer, Massachusetts and saw the 3405 washed up for a series of PR photos.
