During the annual RiverFest events in the Kanawha Valley in Nitro, Kanawha River Railroad EMD GP39-2 No. 3901 sits adjacent to the railroad's small yard office in Nitro. The local, which is a on a weekday rotation, is responsible for switching all freight customers in Nitro, Institute, and throughout the immediate area.
