Remarks & Notes

NS 154 has recently been the train to catch on the Piedmont. In the last eight days, 154 has featured NS 1070 (the "Wabash" heritage unit) twice, and today featured NS 8114, the "Norfolk Southern" unit. Seen here, 154 ducks under Concord Ave West and past an old textile mill. Mills similar to the one in the background were once common sights throughout the smaller cities and towns of North Carolina, and once stood as a proud testament to the State's booming economy that relied heavily on textile and furniture production.
