Remarks & Notes
The last locomotive in true Utah Railway paint to run on Utah Railway's own tracks is the 6061. After the MK503s and other two SD50Ss were moved to other G&W properties, the 6061 was the only unit in the old red-and-gray scheme to be allowed on the mainline on the Provo-Ogden RUT611 and the Provo-Martin HUTAHJ. Here it is leaving the Red Narrows in Spanish Fork Canyon leading the HUTAHJ.

The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service over several decades.

After years of service, even the most reliable of locomotives get worn out.
