Burlington Northern’s 23rd Street diesel shop in Denver, Colorado, is a sea of Cascade green in April 1984. A good assortment of locomotives are identifiable, including five SD9s, three SD40-2s, three B30-7As, two U30Cs, and one each of F45, GP30, GP20 models. The uniformity of the original paint scheme will soon change with the delivery of new “tiger-stripe” GP50s in 1985, and totally go out into the wind with Oakways, LMXs, whitefaces, etc.
