Norfolk Southern's specially painted "Honoring First Responders" SD60E number 9-1-1 leads train 27A through the "Railroad Gulch" in downtown Atlanta, passing the former Southern Railway (and later NS) Spring Street headquarters building. This area was once the throat of the sprawling Terminal Station, with multiple tracks fanning out underneath the now-gone train shed platforms for passenger rail travel. Train 27A originated in Brunswick, Georgia, and is destined for the Mercedes plant in Vance, Alabama, where the auto-racks cars will be loaded with another shipment of export vehicles. From all American railroads, you will see all of the American railroad heritage units, Orginal paints, and sticker units displayed in this album by Railfan 225!
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
