Remarks & Notes
Re 460 # 027, one of the 10 locomotives which got a "R3" rebuilding at Yverdon already, is shoving the Interregio 2514 Lucerne-Berne-Geneva Airport with 200 km/h over the NBS near Hindelbank. The 45 kilometer long "highspeed line" NBS from Mattstetten (Aespli) to Rothrist was opened in december 2004, to shorten the curvy line via Burgdorf-Herzogenbuchsee-Langenthal. Usually, every half an hour, three trains are following each other with an interval of about 2 minutes, controlled by ETCS (European Train Control System, no optic signals along the line). But sometimes, there are even shorter distances between trains, the shortest which I recorded this day was 89 seconds only, which means a distance of less then 5 kilometer between the two trains, each running with 200 km/h. The engineer of the train hasn't to obey the 100 km/h speed limit, which is signaled on the parallel highway A1....
