The 2-10-0 four cylinder compound freight train steamlocomotive C 5/6 "Elephant" # 2978 of SBB Historic is undergoing a rather deep revision by the experienced people of association Dampfgruppe Zürich (steam team Zürich). As we can see on this picture, all 4 piston valves (high pressure inside the frame, low pressure outside), valve gear, piston rods and connecting rods were removed. Pistons are fixed. The rearmost driving wheels got a new tire, so the coupling rods to this wheelset were removed too. Now the locomotive is ready to be pulled to Zürich Depot G's underfloor profiling machine, to adjust the profile on all wheels.
