Remarks & Notes |
The Georgetown Loop Railroad has a number of 'critters' that it uses to shuffle rolling stock. GRLX 21 is a 1940's GE 44 ton diesel that was donated to the Colorado Historical Society (for use by the Georgetown Loop Railroad) by the Rocky Mountain Steel Mills (formerly Colorado Fuel & Iron) of Pueblo, Colorado. It was used at the mill to move tons of steel ingots at the plant and operated in that capacity until the 1980s. The engine then sat idle in a field for many years, and in 2004 arrangements were made to donate it to the society |
