Remarks & Notes
Move over 1943, Here's your UP Lab LOCO! This franken-ALCO was a graveyard smash! It was spotted at the Bluffs in the Summer Of Love prior to being traded in to EMD in '68 for it's own 'monster mash'. The 8080 control unit (originally rebuilt as #80) only ran a couple of years in test service after 1962 rebuild, being retired in 1964, behind it is the turbine B unit. According to UtahRails.net: 1 control unit, 1 turbine unit Control unit: 2000 horsepower; C-C trucks; 363,200 pounds operating weight Turbine unit: 7000 horsepower; 2-C+C-2 trucks; 509,100 pounds operating weight
