The second of two early morning eastbounds holds up at Elton Road, west of Brewster, while the first man works on clearing up at Shorbs (Brewster west yard limits). They had quite a train with three SD40-2s in three different schemes, a GMTX GP38-2, and just under 10,000 feet of mixed freight.
The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service over several decades.
Crazy pool power consists, colorful gatherings of locomotives at a diesel service area, or a mixture of colorful locomotives in storage lines. A minimum of four different paint schemes required.
