When this timeless elegant TRANS EUROP EXPRESS trainset RAe TEE II # 1053 was built in 1961, mechanical signals on the SBB network were widespread. Today, in Biel RB (shunting yard) the only operational semaphores and mechanic shunting signals are in daily use. The blue crossed signal means: no shunting allowed (because a train is entering or leaving the yard). The six car TEE trainset, capable for the 4 european electric systems and 160 km/h, is on a test run from Olten to Biel and back.
