Remarks & Notes
The Max Local pokes along at 10 mph as they pass thru the Lake Audubon area of the Missouri River between Coleharbor and Garrison. This job will get a 2nd crew on board that will work thru the night. The job is enroute to deliver cars to the CP at Max, and then pulling a grain empty for Garrison with the 1st pull, and then the regular manifest with the 2nd pull overnight. DMVW has 125 car max limit on this line, so the crew will have to pull twice tonight from the CP at Max. That will take most of the night, and crew will make it as far as Coleharbor for the day crew tomorrow. This is about the only scheduled train that we found while out here, alot of the other trains are extras.

Freight Cowls are standard locomotives that have a hood that extends the full width of the locomotive. Sadly, most Freight Cowls have been retired, but a few still run on short lines.

The EMD SD (special duty) series are a strong and reliable kind of locomotive which still serve America's rails today. They have proved themselves reliable by clocking in several million miles of freight service over several decades.
