The sun finally break through the heavy almost winter like cloud on this bitter cold evening. The handsome switcher NS 2412 sits cold on the storage track at Debutts Chattanooga Diesel Shop waiting to be put into use on the system. NS 2412 is one of thirty one MP15E's currently on the locomotive roster that were rebuilt from the MP15DC model locomotive. 2349-2432 were the chosen one to get a new lease in life on Norfolk Southern, as the other 57 MP15DC's the non-upgraded version were retired and sold off to leasing companies, shortlines, or scrap a sad reality, and almost end of an era for most of these former Southern Rwy switchers.
