The 50th Anniversary Santa Claus Special nears the end of its run, with local citizens on the ground waiting for the train staff and Santa to heave gifts off the back platform of the business car "West Virginia." This car was built by St. Louis Car Co. in 1952 as a US Army hospital car. The celebrity guest in 1992 (not seen in this photo) was the late Mr. Joe Garagiola, Sr.; the professional ballplayer catcher, announcer, and TV host, who passed away in 2016.
