The Gornergrat Bahn (GGB) has a 24 minutes timetable, which means there is a departure from Zermatt to the Gornergrat every 24 minutes. This needs 4 compositions, and this are usually formed each with a Bhe 4/8 of the # 3051 to 3054 series (SLM and ABB 1993/1994) coupled with a Bhe 4/6 of the # 3081 to 3084 series (Stadler Rail 2006). The reason is: The newer trains of Stadler Rail are partly (about 40 %) lowfloor and so can be offered lowfloor entrance in every timetabled train. Bhe 4/8 # 3052 and Bhe 4/6 # 3081 are on the way to the Gornergrat above Riffelberg station. This part of the line is double track till the top, with right hand running (in Switzerland usually the trains are running on the left track on double track lines). In the background Zinalrothorn and Weisshorn mountains.
