| UP8828 charges into Tunnel 1 of the Moffat Road with a loaded sand train... The heavy westbound consists of a total of 5 big motors distributed 3x2. Note the C44-9W second out in the head-end consist. Railfans have been traveling from around the world to this spot for generations making it one of the most famous and recognizable locations for train watching in the United States. Unfortunately the new CANYON PINES SUBDIVISION has been approved by the City of Arvada (according to the city website). 90 new homes will soon obliterate and change this famous and pristine scene forever. |
