Dating back to the days of the Pennsylvania Railroad, commuter service was operated between Chicago and Valparaiso, Indiana, and lasted into the 1980s. In this instance, a Conrail GP7 is seen assisting the Amtrak bilevel consist that became commonplace for this service. Tom Golden photo.
