| Steamlocomotive G 4/5 # 108 "Engiadina" of the RhB is leaving the 895 meter long Brail tunnel I between Carolina and Cinuos-chel-Brail with full steam and crossing the 80 meter long and 36 meter high Val Mela viaduct, during a photo runby on the occasion of the winter journey from Scuol-Tarasp to Samedan. On the left of the tunnel portal is a memorial for the 12 workers, who died on august 29th, 1911, when the wooden framework collapsed during the brickwork of the arch of the Val Mela viaduct. |
