Detour! In August of 1990, Canadian Indians blocked both CN and CP tracks in Ontario. CN detoured several trains over the CNW from Chicago thru Wisconsin. Here we see a westbound detour train blast thru Sussex, WI on CNW's Adams Line. CN trains in Wisconsin were quite unusual in 1990, but are now an everyday sight, but on the ex-Soo Line, not the UP.
Freight Cowls are standard locomotives that have a hood that extends the full width of the locomotive. Sadly, most Freight Cowls have been retired, but a few still run on short lines.
