Remarks & Notes
A German, a Russian and a Roman meet in Syria
Loco #160 reached the terminus of the line in Bosra, next to the antique and famous Roman theatre of the city. In contrast you can see a Russian Lada limousine, which has Italian roots (Fiat) as well as the theatre. The loco is German, built by Borsig, Berlin, in 1914. It carried the builder’s plate of # 162 (9011), which mislead the publishers of several publications. In 2007 it was still possible to charter steam trains there. More about Syria's railways in 2007 can be found in the trip report section on FarRail Tours
