This 4-6-2 Pacific was built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in March of 1919 for the Canadian Government Railways as their No. 1516. It was leased to the Grand Trunk Railway Co as their No. 1516, before being renumbered to No. 5288. The Canadian National Railway gained ownership in 1923 by merger. In 1961, F. Nelson Blount purchased the locomotive for his Steamtown collection and moved it there in 1965. Later, in 1985, that collection was moved to its present location in Scranton, PA. In 1999, the locomotive was donated to the TVRM. If I recall correctly, it was going to be transformed into a Southern livery which never occurred.
