On the second day of its westwards journey, the "Rocky Mountaineer" from (Banff-) Kamloops to Vancouver is rolling along the Thompson river east of Lytton on the track of Canadian National. Locomotives GP40-2LW # 8015 and # 8014 are pulling the long 21 cars train, including 6 bi-level "Golden Leaf" panorama cars. The locomotives were built in 1976 as Canadian National # 9635 and # 9633. On this side of the river is the track of the Canadian Pacific (which was built first), where the trains mostly are running upstreams (eastwards).
