Remarks & Notes
One of each of EMD's 20-cylinder cowl units accelerate Santa Fe train 15, the Chicago-Houston Texas Chief, away from the stop at Joliet, IL, on a hazy summer afternoon. Warbonnet-painted FP45 5946 fronts a blue-and-yellow F45 borrowed from the freight pool.

Freight Cowls are standard locomotives that have a hood that extends the full width of the locomotive. Sadly, most Freight Cowls have been retired, but a few still run on short lines.
