NH&I's 2-8-0 No. 40 made a triumphant return to steam in November 2017, after a 3½ year hiatus for a major rebuild. Captured here in mid-December, the 1925 built locomotive struts past the former Reading Company depot in preparation for the day's first excursion. The cool weather made for impressive plumes, all complimented by freshly fallen snow and persistent Sun shine, despite the ominous clouds.
